You will be asked a few simple questions about your situation as part of the process to check if you meet the requirements for an assessment.

You can also use the assessment eligibility checker on the My Aged Care website.

Aged care providers

Government funded providers are regulated by the Australian Government. The cost of their services is subsidised by the government to help make them more affordable.

The My Aged Care website has resources to help when you’re looking for an aged care provider.

Cost of aged care

The government may pay part or all of the costs of your aged care. You will be asked to contribute to the cost of your care if you can afford it.

How much you pay for aged care services depends on:

  • the type of help you need
  • the provider you choose
  • your financial situation
  • the services you receive.

The My Aged Care website can help you understand the costs and estimate fees for aged care services.
