Aged care worker COVID-19 leave payment grants

This payment reimburses aged care providers when they pay staff who are on leave due to COVID-19.

If your employer chooses to pay you while you’re on leave because you have COVID-19, you may get a payment of up to $750 per week directly from them if:

  • you’re a permanent or casual aged care worker
  • you’ve tested positive to COVID-19 and can’t work
  • you have no leave entitlements.

Your employer will be reimbursed by the government after they pay you.

Find out more about the leave payment grants on the Department of Health and Aged Care website.
