Create a myGov account using Digital ID

Once you’ve set up your myID to at least a Standard identity strength, you can use it to create a myGov account.

To create a myGov account using your myID:

  1. Go to myGov and select Create account.
  2. Select Continue with Digital ID.
  3. Select myID as your Identity Provider.
  4. Enter your myID email address, then select Login.
  5. A 4-digit code will appear on the login screen.
  6. Log into your myID app using your 10-character password, fingerprint or face.
  7. Enter or accept the 4-digit code in your myID app.
  8. Give your consent by reviewing your details and selecting Consent.
  9. Read the Terms of use and, if you agree, select I have read and agree to the terms of use and then select Next.
  10. You have now created a myGov account using your Digital ID. To begin using your myGov account, select Go to home.

Next time you sign in to your myGov account, select Continue with Digital ID to sign in with myID rather than your username or email.
