Studying while you’re a carer

Find tips about balancing study and caring for someone.

Support from your education provider

Caring options while you attend classes

If the person you look after needs care while you attend classes, you may be able to use home help services. Find out about getting help at home on the Carer Gateway website.

If your situation changes and you can’t balance studying and caring for someone, you might consider supported living options.

If you’re under 25, you can apply for the Young Carer Bursary. This supports young carers to continue with their education. Find out more about the Young Carer Bursary on the Young Carers Network website.
