Tell Centrelink your income will change
When you return to work, make sure you tell Centrelink. Depending on your payment, you’ll need to advise of your return to work, update your family income estimate and check your other details are current. If you don’t, you may miss out on payments or get a debt you’ll have to pay back.

If you get an income support payment, report your and your partner’s income every 2 weeks when you return to work.

Pay tax on your Centrelink payment
If you get a Centrelink payment, you may need to pay tax on it, especially if you’re returning to work and earning more money. Centrelink payments aren’t taxed automatically.
