Planning for palliative care

Palliative care aims to improve the quality of life and relieve symptoms and stress when facing a terminal condition at any age.

It can be provided at home, in hospital, a hospice or at an aged care facility. Find out about accessing aged care services.

Other support options

You may be eligible for support if you, your child or a loved one live with disability or you’re over 65 years. You don’t need to be diagnosed with a terminal illness to access these supports.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and My Aged Care can help you with:

  • cooking
  • cleaning
  • other help at home.
