Support from National Disability Insurance Scheme
Early support for children
If you're concerned about your child's development, you can talk to your child's doctor, early childhood educator or child health nurse. If they agree there is a concern, you can seek help through the NDIS early childhood approach.
NDIS early childhood partners can work with you and connect you to NDIS supports if:
- your child is younger than 6 with developmental concerns
- your child is younger than 9 with disability.
Children younger than 6 don't need a diagnosis to get support if there are concerns about their development.
Early childhood partners can:
- provide information
- connect you to services and supports in your community
- connect you with other families
- help you apply for the NDIS.
Find out more about the early childhood approach on the NDIS website.
Support for people aged 9 to 65 years old
If you’re eligible, and aged 9 to 65 years old, NDIS can help you:
- gain more independence
- get new skills, a job or volunteer in your community
- live the life you want.
They can also connect you with doctors, community groups, libraries, schools and support from state and territory governments.
If you think you’re eligible for the NDIS, you can:
- contact your local NDIS partner and ask them to connect you with disability supports or help you apply for the NDIS
- contact your local NDIS office
- call the NDIS.
Find your local NDIS partner and learn about eligibly or applying on the NDIS website.
Support for people 65 and older
If you’re 65 or older, find out about support you may get through My Aged Care.
