As your baby grows checklist

Complete these tasks as your baby grows.

You can get free vaccinations for children aged 0-4 years from your Maternal Child Health Nurse or GP. The Department of Health and Aged Care website has information on immunisation for children, including what vaccinations they need and when.

Your child must meet immunisation requirements to get some payments from Services Australia. Find out more about immunisation requirements on the Services Australia website.

As your baby grows, there are things you may need to do to manage your payments. If you are planning on returning to work or your circumstances have changed, you’ll need to tell Services Australia.

Find out how to tell Services Australia if your circumstances change on the Services Australia website.

It’s encouraged that you take your child to see a Maternal Child Health Nurse or GP regularly during their early years. Find out more about health checks on your state or territory website. These links will take you away from myGov.

If your child is unwell, take them to see a doctor.

If there are concerns about your child’s development

If there are concerns about your child’s development, you may be able to get support through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

The NDIS early childhood approach helps children younger than 6 with developmental delay. You don’t need a diagnosis, and it can help you access the right support for your child.

Find out more about the early childhood approach on the NDIS website.

If you need child care for your baby you can find child care services on the StartingBlocks website.
