Register the birth of your baby
About birth registration through myGov
Parents of babies born at eligible hospitals in the ACT can choose to register their baby’s birth through myGov.
Your baby must be born at the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children or the North Canberra Hospital in the ACT for you to do this.
The details given to myGov by both parents is used to register their baby’s birth with the registry of births, deaths and marriages. In the ACT this is Access Canberra.
Once the birth mother has entered details about themselves and their baby, they will provide the other parent with an access code to enter their details.
If your baby wasn’t born at one of the listed hospitals, or you don’t have an access code, you’ll need to register your baby's birth in the state or territory where they were born.
