Hearing services
If you notice problems with your child’s hearing, you should see your GP. They can refer you to an audiologist for a hearing test to measure any hearing loss.
If your child has been diagnosed with permanent hearing loss, you may get help from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to pay for:
- hearing assessments
- hearing aids and devices
- education, advice and support.
Find out more if your child has been diagnosed with a hearing loss on the NDIS website.
If your child is 4 years or older, you can use the Sound Scouts app to help identify if your child has hearing loss. Find out more on the Sound Scouts website.
