Payments if you’re sick or injured

If you’re sick or injured and unable to work or study for a short time, there’s help available.

What payments you can get

  • Youth Allowance for job seekers

    A payment for people 21 or younger and looking for work or temporarily unable to work.
  • JobSeeker Payment

    A payment for people between 22 and 66 years old who are looking for work, or who can’t work or study for a short time.

What payments you can get if you have a permanent disability

You can work out if you may be able to get Disability Support Pension using the pre-claim guide on the Services Australia website.

What other payments you can get

  • Low Income Health Care Card

    A concession card to get cheaper health care and some discounts if you’re on a low income.
  • Mobility Allowance

    This helps with travel costs for work, study, training or looking for work if you have disability, illness or injury.
