Link Child Support
Before you link Child Support to your myGov account
Find your Child Support Reference Number (CSRN) if you have one. You’ll have a CSRN if you’re an existing Child Support customer. If you aren’t an existing Child Support customer, find out more about applying for a Child support assessment.
You’ll need a myGov account. If you don’t have a myGov account, you’ll need to create one.
While linking Child Support to your myGov account, you’ll need to answer some questions based on information provided to Child Support in the past.
How to link Child Support to your myGov account
There are 3 ways to link Child Support to your myGov account.
You’ll need to create a Digital ID or use an existing one. If you don’t have a Digital ID, you can create one while you link Child Support.
Find out about Digital ID and what you need to create one on the myID website.
While linking Child Support to your myGov account, you’ll need to answer some questions based on information provided to Child Support in the past.
Follow these steps:
- Sign in to myGov.
- Select View and link services.
- Select Link on the Child Support tile.
- Read and acknowledge the privacy and your personal information message, select Next.
- Select Yes to Do you have or know your Child Support Reference Number (CRSN)?
- Select No to Do you have a linking code? then select Next.
- Select Get started in the Digital ID (Recommended) box and follow the prompts.

You’ll need the mobile phone number or email address registered with Child Support to get a one-time passcode.
If you don’t have access to a mobile phone number or email address registered with Child Support you’ll need an identity document such as your:
- Australian birth certificate
- current Australian driver licence
- Australian passport
- Australian citizenship certificate
- visa details
- ImmiCard issued by Department of Home Affairs
- Australian marriage certificate
- Australian change of name certificate.
While linking Child Support to your myGov account, you’ll need to answer some questions based on information provided to Child Support in the past.
Follow these steps:
- Sign in to myGov.
- Select View and link services.
- Select Link on the Child Support tile.
- Read and acknowledge the privacy and your personal information message, select Next.
- Select Yes to Do you have or know your Child Support Customer Reference Number (CSRN)?
- Select No to Do you have a linking code? Select Next.
- Select Get started in the Using my Child Support Reference Number (CRSN) and follow the prompts.

You’ll need a linking code from a Service Officer. Find out about how to get a linking code.
Follow these steps:
- Sign in to myGov.
- Select View and link services.
- Select Link on the Child Support tile.
- Read and acknowledge the privacy and your personal information message, select Next.
- Select Yes to Do you have or know your Child Support Reference Number (CSRN)?
- Select Yes to Do you have a linking code? Select Next.
- Select Get started in the Linking code box and follow the prompts.

What you can do when you link
When you link Child Support to your myGov account you can:
- check when your payments are due
- check how much you’ll get
- check how much you owe
- view past payments
- update your personal and contact details
- update your bank details and income estimate.

If you can’t link a service to your myGov account, contact the service for help.
