COVID-19 Vaccine Claims Scheme

This is a Services Australia payment for people who experienced harm because of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Who can get it

To be eligible you need to meet all of the following. You must:

  • have received a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved COVID-19 vaccine
  • meet the definition of harm, like one of the clinical conditions listed in the policy
  • have been admitted to hospital as an inpatient because of the harm you suffered, or claimed a waiver if seen in an outpatient care setting
  • have losses of $1,000 or more, not including pain and suffering, due to the COVID-19 vaccination.

You can find more information about the COVID-19 Vaccine Claims Scheme and policy on the Department of Health and Aged Care website.

When Services Australia assesses your claim they may need to consult with the TGA, the Department of Health and Aged Care, or an independent expert panel.
