Students and apprentices
Help from Centrelink
If you’re studying or doing an apprenticeship, you may get:
- a Centrelink payment and use the Income Bank to keep more of your payment when you work
- the Low Income Health Care Card and get cheaper health care and other benefits.

If you’re studying at university or another higher education provider, you may get further support if you’re:
- an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- a migrant, visitor or refugee
- from a rural, regional or remote area
- living with disability, illness or injury
- a LGBTIQ+ student
- a parent.
