Check your myGov account

You should look for any suspicious activity by checking your:

Check your linked services

If your linked services have changed this could mean someone has accessed your myGov account. Changes you should check for include if new services have been linked or services are missing.

Check your linked services for changes to your personal information, especially bank account details. If you notice suspicious activity in any of your linked services, contact that service.

Secure your myGov account after unauthorised access

If there’s activity that wasn’t done by you, this indicates unauthorised access. You should learn how you can protect your myGov account. You can use a multifactor authentication option and strengthen your account security.

Contact the myGov helpdesk if you can’t secure your account.

Close your myGov account

If you can’t secure your account or contact the helpdesk, the safest step is to close your myGov account. You can then create a new account and relink your services. Use the strongest sign in option available to you, like Digital ID or passkeys. Don’t use a password you use in other online accounts.

Other help
