Using Digital ID to access ATO online services

If you sign in to myGov using your Digital ID and access or link the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) online services, this sets your online access strength. This helps secure your account.

To maintain this protection, you need to sign in with your myID (with the same or higher ID strength) when accessing ATO online services. This doesn’t apply to your myGov account or other linked services. Using a Digital ID, such as myID, is voluntary.

Find out about increasing your online security with myID or changing your sign in option on the ATO website.
