Who can donate

You must be 16 or older to register to be an organ donor. It doesn't matter what country you’re from, your lifestyle, if you’re older or how healthy you are, you can still register. A specialist donation team assesses each situation case by case.

Why you need to talk to your family

After you register, it’s important to tell your family that you want to be a donor. This is because your family need to agree to donate your organs and tissue when you die. They're more likely to agree if they know this is important to you.

If donation is possible when you die and your family agrees, doctors will review your medical history and decide what you can donate.
