Register as an organ donor
You can choose which organs and tissue to donate and you can change your mind at any time.
Find out how donation works and how it can help others on the DonateLife website.
Who can donate
To register to be an organ donor, you must be 16 or older. It doesn't matter what country you’re from, your lifestyle, if you’re older or how healthy you are, you can still register. A specialist donation team assesses each situation case by case.
Why tell your family about your decision
After you register, it’s important to tell your family that you want to be a donor. This is because your family need to agree to donate your organs and tissue when you die. They're more likely to agree if they know this is important to you.
Donation teams will never go ahead with organ donation if your family don’t agree.
