When more than one family member needs a card, you can get a second Medicare card with the same details. Medicare can only give your family one extra card.

Add children under 15 to your Medicare card

Parents and guardians need to complete a form to add a child under 15 to their card.

Add a baby to your Medicare card

Medicare adds your baby to your Medicare card when you enrol them in Medicare.

When you enrol your baby, you’ll get a new Medicare card with their name added to it. You’ll get your new card in the mail and your card is updated in the myGov app.
