Link Centrelink

Find out how to link Centrelink to myGov to view and manage your Centrelink online claims.

Find your Customer Reference Number (CRN) if you have one. You’ll have a CRN if you’ve had a Centrelink payment or concession card in the past. If you don't have a CRN, find out how to get a CRN on the Services Australia website.

You’ll need a myGov account. If you don’t have a myGov account, you’ll need to create one.

While linking Centrelink to your myGov account, you’ll need to answer some questions based on information provided to Centrelink in the past.

There are 4 ways to link Centrelink to your myGov account.

You’ll need to create a Digital ID or use an existing one. If you don’t have a Digital ID, you can create one while you link Centrelink .

The email address you use for your Digital ID must be the same as your myGov email address.

While linking Centrelink to your myGov account, you’ll need to answer some questions based on information provided to Centrelink in the past.

Follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to myGov.
  2. Select View and link services.
  3. Select Link on the Centrelink tile.
  4. Consent to myGov storing your personal details or review your myGov profile details.
  5. Read and acknowledge the privacy and your personal information message, select Next.
  6. Select Yes or No to Do you have or know your Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN)? then select Next.
  7. Select No to Do you have a linking code? Select Next.
  8. Select Get started in the Digital ID (Recommended) box and follow the prompts.

You’ll need your Medicare card details and 2 identity documents such as your:

  • Australian birth certificate
  • current Australian driver licence
  • Australian passport
  • Australian citizenship certificate
  • visa details
  • ImmiCard issued by Department of Home Affairs.

While linking Centrelink to your myGov account, you’ll need to answer some questions based on information provided to Centrelink in the past. 

Follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to myGov.
  2. Select View and link services.
  3. Select Link on the Centrelink tile.
  4. Consent to myGov storing your personal details or review your myGov profile details.
  5. Read and acknowledge the privacy and your personal information message, select Next.
  6. Select Yes or No to Do you have or know your Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN)? then select Next.
  7. Select Get started in the Centrelink identity verification box and follow the prompts.

You’ll need the mobile phone number or email address registered with Centrelink to get a one-time passcode.

If you don’t have access to a mobile phone number or email address registered with Centrelink you’ll need an identity document such as your:

  • Australian birth certificate
  • current Australian driver licence
  • Australian passport
  • Australian citizenship certificate
  • visa details
  • ImmiCard issued by Department of Home Affairs
  • Australian marriage certificate
  • Australian change of name certificate.

While linking Centrelink to your myGov account, you’ll need to answer some questions based on information provided to Centrelink in the past.

Follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to myGov.
  2. Select View and link services.
  3. Select Link on the Centrelink tile.
  4. Consent to myGov storing your personal details or review your myGov profile details.
  5. Read and acknowledge the privacy and your personal information message, select Next.
  6. Select Yes to Do you have or know your Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN)? Select Next.
  7. Select No to Do you have a linking code. Select Next.
  8. Select Get started in the Using my Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN) box and follow the prompts.

You’ll need a linking code from a Service Officer. Find out about how to get a linking code.

Follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to myGov.
  2. Select View and link services.
  3. Select Link on the Centrelink tile.
  4. Consent to myGov storing your personal details or review your myGov profile details.
  5. Read and acknowledge the privacy and your personal information message, select Next.
  6. Select Yes to Do you have or know your Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN)?
  7. Select Yes to Do you have a linking code? Select Next.
  8. Select Get started in the Linking code box and follow the prompts.

When you link your Centrelink online account to your myGov account you can:
