You may be eligible for a Centrelink payment, or other payments, to help you manage everyday costs.

There are payments available for people in many different situations. Find out if you're eligible for a payment.

Payments for families

Depending on your family’s circumstances, you may be eligible for support from Centrelink.

Payments to claim when having a baby

Payments you can get while studying

Income support payment

Advance payment
If you get a Services Australia payment, you can sometimes apply to get part of your payment early.
Centrepay
A free and voluntary service to pay bills and expenses as regular deductions from your Centrelink payments.
Low Income Health Care Card
A concession card to get cheaper health care and some discounts if you’re on a low income.
Weekly payment option
You may be able to get your Centrelink income support payment weekly instead of fortnightly.
Severe financial hardship provisions
Centrelink may reduce or remove your waiting period for a payment if you meet the severe financial hardship provisions.

You may be able to get a No Interest Loan (NIL) from Good Shepherd to help you with costs.

NILs let you borrow money for essential goods, such as white goods and car repairs. You pay no interest, and you only repay what you borrow.
