Payments you can get while looking for work
If you’re unemployed, you may get a payment from Centrelink while you look for work.
Other payments you can get if you’re unemployed
There are other Centrelink payments you may be eligible for if you are:
- raising kids
- caring for someone
- studying
- living with disability or a medical condition.
You may also be eligible for services like a Low Income Health Care Card or Advance Payment.

No Interest Loans
You may be able to get a No Interest Loan (NIL) from Good Shepherd to help you with costs.
NILs let you borrow money for essential goods, such as white goods and car repairs. You don’t pay interest on a NIL, and you only repay what you borrow.
